Hailing from Orlando, Florida, Sharp is a recent graduate of University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), receiving her Master's in Vocal Performance under the tutelage of Thomas Baresel. In Summer 2022, she joins Des Moines Metro Opera as an Apprentice Artist, covering Hippolyta in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream and covering Lily in the Gershwins' Porgy and Bess in addition to singing the Hurricane solo. She will also perform Mercédès (Carmen), Tisbe (Cenerentola), and Aunt Lou (Highway 1, U.S.A.) as part of their scenes program. This fall, she joins Opera Ithaca as a Young Artist, singing Aunt Lou (Highway 1, U.S.A.) and Taller Zenger Daughter (Proving Up) in a double bill, as well as covering Fenena in Verdi’s Nabucco.


At CCM, she sang the title role in Bizet’s Djamileh (Opera Bootcamp), Ursule in Béatrice et Bénédict (Opera Gala), and Dorabella in Così fan tutte (Opera Workshop). She also participated in the workshop for Nathaniel Stookey and Eisha Davis‘s opera, Bulrusher, with Opera Fusion: New Works/Cincinnati Opera, and finished her final semester as Maria Maddelena/Scribe in Phillip Glass’s Galileo Galilei in Spring 2022.


Sharp received the Audience Choice Award at the 2020 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions Great Lakes Regional Finals and the Hilda Harris Mezzo-Soprano Award at the George Shirley Vocal Competition in 2018. Recently, she was named a semi-finalist for the 2021 Orpheus Vocal Competition and Perfect Day Music Competition, along with being a finalist for the 2019 Opera MODO Aria Competition and the U-M Concerto Competition.


She has performed with Michigan Opera Theatre, Opera MODO, Detroit Song Collective, Comic Opera Guild, Chautauqua Music Festival, Brevard Music Center, Prague Summer Nights and Lyric Opera Studio Weimar. Select roles include: Ježibaba (Rusalka), Marcellina (Le Nozze di Figaro), Gertrude (Hansel and Gretel), Ruth (Pirates of Penzance), Dritte Dame (Die Zauberflöte), and Mrs. Ott (Susannah).

Sharp holds a Bachelor's from the University of Michigan where she studied with renowned tenors George Shirley and Stanford Olsen. She was a recipient of the Steven M. Schwartzberg Music Scholarship and the Friends of Opera Undergraduate Scholarship for musical and academic excellence. She is a current student of Sheri Greenwald.
